Career Services helps clients develop the skills, experience and confidence to increase their employment potential.  Career counseling staff provide clients with vocational assessment and counseling, employment training, referrals to schools and skills training programs, job development, placement and follow-up services.  In the program's Learning Center, clients receive literacy training and GED preparation.

In addition, Career Services offers ACCES-VR (Adult Career and Continuing Education Services - Vocational Rehabilitation) orientation for those seeking these services at 53 Canterbury Road. This orientation session describes ACCES-VR services and the eligibility process. Career Services staff gathers the eligibility paperwork and sends it to ACCES-VR who then determines eligibility and will notify you of your status.

Our applicants have explored their career choices. We use vocational screening and testing to ensure that each individual applies for jobs that match his/her qualifications and preferences. In addition, we will work with you to gain a full understanding of your job requirements and specifications prior to recommending a candidate.

In 2010, the Career Services Program served 525 clients:
	65 clients were hired in competitive jobs.
	31 employed clients achieved a job advancement.
	65 clients participated in the Supportive Employment Training Program and/or in sheltered employment.
	86 clients were placed in volunteer jobs.
	154 clients were enrolled in schools or skills training programs.
	39 clients completed a two-week educational enrichment program at Rochester Institute of Technology.
	93 clients received literacy and adult basic education in the Learning Center.
	4 clients received their GED.
