| The Mental Health Community Residence Program provides residential rehabilitation services to adults recovering from
serious mental health problems. The program consists of five group
homes with
a total of 71 beds and 38 apartments with a total of 54 beds. Services
include individual and group counseling; recreational, educational and
vocational programs; independent living skills training; monitoring of
physical and mental health needs, and coordination with other service
providers.

In 2007, the program served 182 individuals and only
2% were discharged to a hospital.
Upon completion of the program, 82% of clients moved to live more independently and
47% were involved in work, school, training, or volunteer work.
The cost of an East House group home is $91/day and
$55/day for apartments, compared to an average cost of $500/day for impatient psychiatric treatment.
