Documentary My Mother's
Garden Takes Center Stage September 30th at Second Annual Hope
and Recovery Celebration
Cynthia Lester’s 2008 documentary My Mother’s Garden is
a personal exploration of Hoarding Disorder and its impact on a
family. Lester looks at her own mother, Eugenia, whose Hoarding
overtakes her life to the point that the clutter in her home forces
her to sleep outdoors. The film follows Lester and her brothers’
efforts to come together, heal, and save their mother from eviction.
Lester will share her insights into her mother’s disorder and
discuss how and why she made this unique and stirring film at the
Second Annual East House Luncheon Lecture, which will be held on Thursday,
September 30th at the Double Tree Hotel. The luncheon
is part of East House’s endeavor to spotlight the efforts of those
affiliated with these illnesses to live satisfying and productive
lives.
Alesco Advisors, Alstom Signal, Buckingham Properties,
De Paul, Financial Architects/Mass Mutual, Home Care of Rochester,
